Typology: State Biogenetic Nature Reserve; established with D.M.A.F. July 26, 1971; falls within the Val Grande National Park.
The Val Grande State Biogenetic Nature Reserve, included in the Val Grande National Park, occupies an area of 973 hectares in the hills of the southern sector of the Lepontine Alps, in the municipal area of Cossogno.

It affects an area that is difficult to access, with very deep valleys. Great abundance of water and centuries-old natural forests of conifers and broad-leaved trees; the walls and rocky peaks are an ideal place for the nesting of the golden eagle and the life of the chamois.
